Trellis designs come from artists & programmers.

David A. Bethune is an artist and programmer born in Austin, Texas in 1968 and raised in the Silicon Valley area of California. His first forays into programming were with the Tandy TRS-80 in 1977 at age 9. At 23, he became a mainframe programmer for IBM's Santa Teresa Laboratory in San José, one of the world's largest software facilities. His career also includes marketing and sales positions, technical writing and education, and graphic design work for newspaper and magazine ads. He founded Human Dimensions in 1995, just as the internet's popularity began to take hold.

David's interest in art and photography also began in childhood and he retains a number of strong artistic influences in his personal and professional work. For the last 8 years, his photographs have focused on industrial archaeology. His heroes are Walt Disney, Andy Warhol, and Edwin Land (the inventor of Polaroid). He is deeply interested in music theory and performance and enjoys singing, remixing dance music, and playing the synthesizer. David was an exchange student to Spain and is fluent in Spanish.

Christopher Russell is a programmer and an artist born in 1978 in Aptos, California and raised in nearby Los Gatos. Chris was viewed as a strong candidate for Major League Baseball and was accepted to George Fox University in Oregon on a full scholarship. He switched to a technical career when an arm injury left him unable to play. After working on technical writing and electronic document projects for Hewlett-Packard and National Semiconductor, Chris graduated from iGeneration technical school in San Francisco and joined Trellis (then Exprion) as an owner/partner in 2000. In 2002, he and David co-invented our Sierra Red technology, a fundamental aspect of Trellis .NET.

Chris's art centers around travel photography with a particular focus on landscapes. He says they help him, "tune in to the functionality of life." He is active in his community, coaching kids baseball, participating in trash cleanups, and teaching computer classes. Chris's heroes are Ansel Adams for his art and Sierra Club contributions, Neale Donald Walsh for his wonderful books, and his parents for never giving up on any venture he took on.
