Technologies
Trellis web technologies save time and build value for our clients.
In 1995, in the early history of the internet, most websites were created by hand in HTML. Pages that were related to each other in content or appearance had to be hacked out individually. When changes were needed, you hunted them down and made them one-by-one.
Our founder did exactly one website like that before realizing there had to be a better way.
The better way he invented was a program named Trellis. It took the leap of separating the content of a website from its appearance and functionality, making it easy to standardize features that were the same across an entire site -- like navigation, security, and access to databases.
Since then, the original Trellis software has undergone three major revisions. In 2000, we replaced all SQL and other data storage techniques with a pure XML approach. In 2001, we upgraded the platform to a web services architecture based on Microsoft .NET. And in 2007, we launched an integrated client/server solution for complex websites called Trellis Factory.
